Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Bear Retirement Home. As the Brown family moves forward, a thrilling adventure ensues as a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. Paul King, the director of the previous two films, decided not to direct this part. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer. 'Paddington in Peru (2024)' not as good as Paddington 2 (2017), but it’s not as big a step down as some early reactions have led me to believe. For the most part, it’s still a fun and pleasantly polite experience that’s as enjoyable as it is edgy. While the standard adventure narrative is less idiosyncratic than the vignette approach of the first two pictures, it still works well enough in this context, allowing its charming characters to continue to fascinate even as they face off against the classic sequel. are taken from their natural habitat to explore the protagonist’s as-yet-unknown origins. Funny moments abound, and the film is good-natured from the very first frame. It’s a really great movie, and sometimes that’s all you need. Compared to its predecessors, it lacks a strong emotional core. While its few moments are moving, the piece isn’t particularly moving and won’t bring tears to your eyes. Also, some of his character work is pretty superficial and, as my brother pointed out, almost feels like an obligatory corollary. The narrative is generally quite conventional and follows a specific formula almost to the tee. It’s pretty predictable and feels pretty generic, almost like it was retrofitted for Paddington after his basic beats were already laid out. Despite a few issues, this feature still has more than enough to like. Its charming cast is as strong as ever, with some excellent newcomers (Antonio Banderas and Olivia Coleman) happily chewing the scenery whenever needed. The special effects are consistently good, believably bringing the eponymous bear to life in such a way that it’s strange to think he’s never in the same space as the other characters. When he doesn’t make a natural appearance on the red carpet, it feels like something is missing. The film is light and bouncy; it really flies by and is generally a lot of fun. It’s jam-packed with visuals and dialogue spots and jaw-dropping action scenes that sweep you off your feet. It’s a really good time. Ultimately, this is a perfectly respectable addition to her series that is well-crafted and enjoyable. It’s a shame it follows Paddington 2 (2017) because there’s an argument to be made as to which is the best – or at least the most universally appealing. – picture of all time, because it really is a great family film. If you’re expecting the best movie of all time (again) or even the second best movie of all time, you’re obviously going to be disappointed. But it’s a solid effort that charms and entertains in nearly every scene. It is much better than many similar prices. If you don’t expect a miracle, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
